Du Lịch

No. This is not the Dominican Republic. That’s the next episode. Still watch this one though! It’s got purple birds, bubbling beaches, boiling lakes and super old people.

  1. Dominica, officially the Commonwealth of Dominica, is an island country in the Caribbean. The capital, Roseau, is located on the western side of the island. It is geographically situated a part of the Leeward Islands chain in the Lesser Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean Sea. The island is located near Guadeloupe to the northwest and Martinique to the south-southeast. Its area is 750 km2 (290 sq mi), and the highest point is Morne Diablotins, at 1,447 m (4,747 ft) in elevation. The population was 71,293 at the 2011 census.

  2. I know a man from Dominica and we live in a very un-diverse part of rural Oregon. I don't know anybody else from the Caribbean here. I was shocked he came from there. When I first asked him where he was from, he just said "an island far away" and I had to press several times to get him to say the name and he was shocked I knew where it was.

  3. actually.. about 68% or more of dominicans are mixed…. although some people have dark skin.. skin colour isnt the gene factor… alot of people have white, carib, or caucasian mixed in with the african side… ex. a friend of mine is really dark skin and his great grand mother is white

  4. Guadeloupe or st Lucia would be Dominicans closest Caribbean friend. As a Trinidadian they are family But I feel they are closest to the first 2 those two.

  5. At 7:44 it should say "Nous parlions français", not "Nous avons utilisé pour parler français", which is a completely literal translation from English and makes almost zero sense in French.

  6. Great work! Loved the little aside about the PRC slithering in by asking Dominicans to not recognize Taiwan. So China….
