Texas Women’s U-23 player and University of Texas Women’s Club captain Stephanie Flores died early Friday in a Kansas hospital from injures she sustained in a game last weekend.

Her head hit the ground while making a tackle, according to reports.

Traci Schmidtke, coach of the U-23 team, put out this release. You can donate to Stephanie’s memorial funds by clicking on the link and going to the Pay Pal option.

This is a tragic accident. A fine student, leader and person has been lost. She was well-loved by her teammates and friends.
