West Houston 36 Austin Blacks II 29 – The Ref says: After 7 scoreless minutes of jockeying for position, I yellowcarded Austin #4 for foul play. 2 minutes later and still shorthanded, Austin scored a converted try. 7 minutes after that, W. Houston answered with an unconverted try of their own. The remainder of the game was cleanly played and very exciting. As the half progressed, Austin scored another unconverted try and made a penalty kick to go up 15-5 before W. Houston roared back with a converted try at the 33 minute mark and an unconverted try to go into halftime up 17-15. Austin opened the scoring in the second half with a converted try at the 6 minute mark to retake the lead only to have Houston tie the game at 22-all about 7 minutes later. W. Houston scored again just 3 minutes later with a converted try and then again to go up 36-22 with about 15 minutes to play. Austin finished the scoring with a converted try at full time. Final score 36-29

Thanks for the comments, but we should be a little more accommodating to our rugby brethren. These are not the only teams finding it difficult to travel these days – see Shreveport’s loss to Austin this weekend.
