Rugbymagazine.com named their mens’ All-American teams, and three Texans have made the lists.
Keegan Engelbrecht, who played prep rugby with the Dallas Harlequins (and grew up in the organization) received first-team honors as flyhalf. Engelbrecht helped lead his Cal Bears to a national title in 15s and a rubber-up finish in the inaugural CCI 7s tournament.
Joining Engelbrecht on the first team is Hunter Leland from Texas A&M at fullback. The Aggies continue to duel LSU for top college program in Texas, and made the Sweet 16 this past season.
Leland’s teammate Connor Bertrand landed on the second team as a flanker.
Congrats to all three of these young ruggers! Check out the full list here.
